Amar Sandhu is Everywhere! He’s got a his new single “Everywhere” out now, complete with a music video. The song embodies the best of his folk voice and Urban sound.
Visually, the clip oozes western swag. The video’s storyline and quality are very disjointed – I imagine this is an effect of Corona lockdown. The video opens with Amar Sandhu riding in the night on his rocking horse, the comical relief we all need right now.
Then there is a drastic scene change when we shift to a salon where the primping and pruning is in full effect. First, there’s a monkey getting a manicure. The monkey continues to appear, at one point, even on a scooter. Relevant? Not in my opinion. Also off the heels of “Tiger King’s” success and the increased awareness on captive exotic animals, this cameo feels tone deaf.
A couple more cameos before we pan to Amar. His new look, featuring curly hair and a bold orange suit, are slick. We have watched Amar grow up through his videos and stage shows. Seeing this 2020 evolution is refreshing and exciting. (This orange also has me craving Cheetos)
In the next set – we see Amar and his boys in a dirty pool. Brief and pointless. The gem of this video is the chorus choreography. Amar needs to take this to social media, get people doing these moves, collect his fans videos, and then tell the story, “everywhere, everywhere mere suno’ge gaane.”
