Describing it as rich and fancy, Mindy Kaling said she strived to be affluent enough to be a John Kelly Chocolates customer. Now as a Hollywood star, she’s enjoying chocolate covered, dried fruit treats. The package is a 2 tone-box (brown bottom, gold top) wrapped in a wide blue ribbon. Mindy bites into a juicy, dark chocolate covered apricot and my mouth is watering. That fruit looks lush!
MarieBelle Soho (New York City, NY)
Mindy admits to having had a simpler palette in her childhood. Classic Swiss Miss hot chocolate was her selection. Now she’s enjoying artisanal hot chocolate thanks to “Ocean’s 8” film schedule taking Mindy to New York. Around the corner from Mindy’s apartment is MarieBelle’s Chocolate Shop which offers a variety of cocoa treats. Mindy Kaling said she would pop in for a serving of hot chocolate, “tiny shot glasses of hot chocolate” which are decadent and viscous. “Next up…little plate of turds,” Mindy is full of jokes. Littlejohn’s Candies chocolate covered toffee bars. The sweetness of toffee is balanced with dark chocolate makes it the perfect balance for Mindy Kaling. I’m not a toffee fan personally, but Mindy says these treats sell out daily!

A local favorite, and Mindy’s, See’s Candies is readily available. Mindy Kaling is a fan of the chocolate covered peppermint patties. She’s prefers the dark chocolate variety, but a milk chocolate one is offered too. What makes this choice interesting is that Mindy says she’s not a peppermint fan usually.
Baci Perugina
Nostalgia gets a space on the list: Baci Perugina. Mindy’s parents were quite regimented and chocolate was a holiday treat each year. The European chocolate is individually wrapped chocolate bonbons with hazelnuts. An elevated Ferrero Rocher perhaps? I will def be looking these up!
Cadbury Crème Eggs
My British mum kept all things Cadbury in the house, so these are a familiar favorite which I occasionally enjoy. Truly a guilty pleasure! Mindy loves the crème and eagerly awaits Easter for these treats to hit shelves.
