Raxstar and Amar Sandhu have come together to drop their new collaboration “London.” As the song title suggest, the video chronicles the boys day in London with a couple of friends.
The video is a montage of clips featuring iconic London visuals such as the red telephone booth, the tube, London Eye and more. The video is presented like an old school home video with modern elements: girls, dance moves, and memorable outfits.
The song has been produced by Rimshox pulling old school bhangra sounds echoed with the vintage video effects. Amar focuses his effort on Punjabi vocals while Raxstar raps in Punjabi and English.
The nostalgic dance moves took me back to Birmingham, UK where the Bhangra scene has its roots. It’s fun to see the new school talent bring back this vibe.
Raxstar and Amar Sandhu collabed back in March 2018 with the song Rewind. Was that alluding to London and its old-school style? What we can conclude is that when these two make music, it’s a hit with fans as they continue to strike the balance of Urban and Desi.
Independently, Raxstar has been dropping track after track. We’ve recently been treated to Say Less and Time. Amar Sandhu is fresh of the release of The Baddest alongside Ezu.
With a few more weeks left in 2019, dare I say, what’s next for these two before the new year? In the meantime, take a trip through London and down memory lane.
